A52 fatal crash sparks campaign for permanent speed cameras

A petition calling for permanent speed cameras on the A52 has been launched by Bramcote resident Tony Smith following the death of two young men in a horrific collision.  It appears that speed was a major factor and a number of residents have contacted me to say that they have complained for some time about speeding on the A52.

I don't hesitate in giving Tony Smith and Bramcote's Councillors my support with their petition for permanent speed cameras, particularly on the stretch from Bramcote Island and Priory Roundabout.  I have already written to Highways England who manage the A52 (a copy of my letter is below) and I have contacted the local police inspector, Steve Wragg who confirms his support for permanent speed cameras.

If you would like to support Tony Smith's petition, which I will present to Parliament, please print off a copy below and either send it back to my office or hand it back to Tony or a Bramcote councillor.
